Tall and elegant with a tapering bottom and flared lip, this vase is perfect for long-stemmed flowers from your garden. It's distinctive flowing green ash glaze calls to mind the Arts and Crafts era of decorative techniques.
The clay used is fine, white stoneware, very smooth to the touch. Each piece is hand-thrown on the potter’s wheel, signed, glazed, and fired to 2300 degrees. Sizes may vary slightly. The wood ash glaze is formulated with ashes recycled from the wood stoves of neighbors in the community. The ashes help melt the other elements in the glaze, causing the effect of tree-like imagery on the surface of the clay pieces.
