  Pansy derives from the French word "pensée", meaning “thought.” Showing white, yellow, purple, or blue shades, with two-sided petals and a single bottom, the Pansy is an iconic garden flower. This unique jewelry is made by creating molds directly from botanical elements in a process similar to lost-wax casting. Michael uses an actual leaf, branch or flower instead of a wax model. A mold is formed around the botanical element and during the heating process the plant matter is burned away leaving behind a detailed image of itself. Soft patinas are then used on cast bronze and further accented with pearls , beads, corals, glass or stones.
