Golden Poppies is part of the VERDANT collection. Brilliant orangy-red poppies on a lively green background. Where one of the artists grew up in Northern California, the roadsides are often replete with these brilliantly colored flowers. All children in California are taught, growing up, that the golden poppy is the state flower and it is illegal to pick it -- a very early lesson in civics.
