Beautifully lifelike, these Black Eyed Susan earrings are hand crafted from cast bronze finished in 24 karat gold and accented with cast glass centers and gold leaf.

This unique jewelry is made by creating molds directly from botanical elements in a process similar to lost-wax casting. Michael uses an actual leaf, branch or flower instead of a wax model. A mold is formed around the botanical element and during the heating process the plant matter is burned away leaving behind a detailed image of itself. Soft patinas are then used on cast bronze and further accented with pearls , beads, corals, glass or stones.
