Beautifully reminiscent of Cape Cods lovely hydrangea flowers, the "Spring Cape" brooch is hand crafted from cast bronze with a hand patina finish and accented with cast glass "blossoms" in luscious shades of blue and purple.

This unique jewelry is made by creating molds directly from botanical elements in a process similar to lost-wax casting. Michael uses an actual leaf, branch or flower instead of a wax model. A mold is formed around the botanical element and during the heating process the plant matter is burned away leaving behind a detailed image of itself. Soft patinas are then used on cast bronze and further accented with pearls , beads, corals, glass or stones.
